John Butler

b. Dublin, 1959

Studied Drawing & Painting and Electronic Imaging at Duncan of Jordanstone college of art, Dundee.

Lives and works in Glasgow as a freelance 3d animator.

Has exhibited and screened media art work extensively in the UK and abroad, and has produced work for broadcast in UK for BBC2 and Channel 4.

Interactive work has been commissioned by Tramway, Glasgow, Lovebytes, Sheffield, and ISEA/FACT, Manchester.

Work has been screened at European media art festivals including Impakt, Kassel Dokfest, Emaf, Transmediale, and Supernova.

I started working with electronic art in the early 80s, moving from sound sampling on an Apple 2, through to the early days of desktop video on the Amiga. I then worked in TV facilities using Quantel Paintbox and Editbox before fully transitioning to 3d in the mid 90s.

Yaloo

Yaloo is a South Korean born extravagant visual storyteller working with digital media. Her one of a kind visual treatment on mundane images and her experimental use of screen based image making technology invite viewers to be immersed in her world while sparking friendly conversations on important matters of our time. She received a BFA & MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago(SAIC) focusing on Film, Video, New Media and Animation. She was the first recipient of Lyn Blumenthal Memorial Fellowship from Video Data Bank(SAIC). She received a Gold Award from AHL Foundation, NY. She is a recent grant recipient from Korea Arts Council and Incheon Foundation of Art and Culture, South Korea. She is a full fellowship residency recipient of Asia Cultural Center (South Korea), Headlands Art Center (USA), Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Japan), La Bande Video (Canada), Western Front Society (Canada), Bemis Studio Art Center (USA), and Vermont Studio Art Center (USA). Her works have been part of a number of solo/group shows and festivals in the cities such as Chicago, Portland, New York, Quebec City, Malmö, Dresden, Fukuoka, Vancouver, and Seoul. She lectures at the department of intermedia art at Kaywon University of Arts and Design, South Korea.

Frank WANG Yefeng

b. Shanghai, China

Frank WANG Yefeng is an experimental animator and interdisciplinary artist based in Providence, RI and New York, NY, USA. He works across media including 3D animation, video, installation, sculpture, and writing. He received his MFA in Art and Technology Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011. Yefeng’s work has been exhibited in numerous venues, including BRIC Biennial (USA), ZAZ10 Times Sqaure Billboards (USA), Governors Island Art Fair (USA), Supernova Digital Animation Festival (USA), Currents International New Media Festival (USA), Gene Siskel Film Center (USA), File Festival (Brazil), International Festival Les Instants Video (France), Festspielhaus Hellerau (Germany), Hyundai Motor studio Beijing (China), K11 Museum (China), Duolun Museum of Modern Art (China), Vanguard Gallery (Shanghai), Biblioteca Miguel de Cervantes Shanghai (China) and others. His works have been commissioned by Royal College of Art (UK), Gasworks London (UK), and Denver Digerati (USA). Yefeng is also a fellow artist at Vermont Studio Center and a AFIAS AWARDS winner of Spain Moving Image Festival, and has participated in International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP, USA), New York Art Residency & Studios Foundation (NARS, USA), and GlogauAIR Berlin (Germany) as an artist in residency.

Wednesday Kim

Wednesday Kim🔫️ is an interdisciplinary artist and a co-founder of De:Formal Online Gallery, currently based out of California. Kim works with a mixture of analog and digital media including 3D animation, video, performance, installation, print, and sculpture with clusterfuck Aesthetic. Her work is informed by personal experiences and human psychology; she derives imagery from nightmares, intrusive thoughts, and childhood trauma. Her work has been included numerous times in Supernova programs since 2017.

Milton Melvin Croissant III

Milton Melvin Croissant III is his real name. Milton is an Artist and Animator based in Brooklyn, NY who works primarily in opensource 3D modeling software to build and explore worlds layered against our own. Besides having been commissioned by Denver Digerati on numerous occassions, Milton designed the first poster for Supernova’s inaugural edition in 2016 and was the first performance jam artist at the festival in 2017 along with Ryan McRyhew. His work is currently on view in Denver Digerati’s Meow Wolf Convergence Station presentation.

Eric Davis

Eric Davis is the Tech Lead at Meow Wolf Denver’s Convergence Station, and has been working in the Audiovisual and Creative Technology space for 10+ years. Prior to joining Meow Wolf, Eric worked as a freelance sound designer and technologist, focusing on real-time systems and content for spatial and interactive audiovisual media Credits include The IT Chapter 2 Experience, Brittany Spears The Zone, Cyberpunk 2077 Samsung QLEDecode, and creating a realtime system for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s Gates Planetarium.

 

Director’s Choice category and award will be determined by Denver Digerati Executive Director Sharifa Moore and Founder Ivar Zeile.
